Stress (Interactive)

I created this Google Presentation, Stress, to teach my class the definition of stress, things that can cause stress, and ways to relieve it. I would use this interactive version if we all had access to computers. I would use this in my class as an introduction followed by the class working in groups to create their own stress management plan.

I don't get it!!

I created this page to amplify instruction in my classroom. If a child is having difficulty understanding a subject, they can go to this page and watch the videos to learn more about it. It will constantly change depending on what we are working on in class. Subjects covered are Science, Math, and English. Core standards addressed are listed below each section of movies. **

I created this presentation as an introduction to the water cycle. In the presentation, condensation, precipitation, and evaporation are defined and shown their function in the water cycle. I would use this in my classroom with a fill in the blank note-taking guide. Here is a link to the script  to make a worksheet from it.

Opinion Writing

I created this mind map to show my students an example of prewriting. It would work well with opinion writing. The subject is class pets. I would show this mind map to my students and then have them write me 2-3 paragraph opinion on whether we should have a class pet or not.
*Core Standards Addressed: English Language Arts Grade 4: Writing Standard 1:Write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information. A Teacher Is...

I created this graphic organizer to show what a teacher is to a classroom. I would show this in my classroom and talk about my responsibilities and what their responsibilities are as students. We would then make and sign a classroom contract of responsibility.

Where Their Wings Take Them

Where Their Wings Take Them: StoryBird
I created this for my class to show them a way to creatively share their observations of birds. Before showing the story, I would issue them the assignment of observing birds and reporting on what they see. I would then show them this example as a way of reporting. I would also accept one of the following: a handmade story, a written report with 2 visuals,  a blog with 2 visuals, an informational video posted to youtube, or an informational poster with 2-6 visuals.

4th grade Science: Standard 5: Objective 4a. Observe and record the behavior of birds (e.g., caring for young, obtaining food, surviving winter).
